Residential Energy Improvement Program-Multifamily Pathway

SWEPCO’s Multifamily Pathway offers incentives to help property owners perform energy efficiency upgrades. These upgrades provide a variety of benefits to the property owner, including: lower electricity and water bills for tenants, better thermal comfort for tenants, and increased property value.

Multifamily Pathway

Multifamily pathway Through the Multifamily Pathway, qualified contractors will install energy saving products, including LEDs, low flow showerheads, faucet aerators, and if applicable, advanced power strips, at no cost! A SWEPCO Network Contractor will schedule the work at the property's convenience, supply all labor and materials, remove old fixtures and submit paperwork to the Program. In addition, the property owner will receive $15 for each unit that is upgraded.

ENERGY STAR® Appliance Pathway

The Multifamily Appliance Pathway offers rebates for ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washers to qualifying property owners. The Program offers a rebate of $75 for clothes washers. Residents who are responsible for providing their own clothes washer can also take advantage of the rebate. Learn more about our clothes washer rebates.

Additional Rebate Opportunities

Multifamily projects are often eligible for rebates on additional energy efficiency improvements, including air sealing, duct sealing, insulation, HVAC replacement, HVAC tune-ups and ENERGY STAR windows. In addition, our energy advisors can determine if your property qualifies for additional commercial rebates for lighting upgrades, HVAC improvements, energy efficient pumps, and much more. Program Details

Multifamily Appliance Pathway

  • Participation in the Multifamily Appliance pathway requires each property to consist of a minimum of 4 housing units or more served by SWEPCO electric meters.
  • For qualifying purchases, customers will receive $75 for clothes washers.
  • Limit of 1 clothes washer rebate per multifamily unit.
  • Appliance purchases may be made from a partner or non-partner retailer. Find participating retailers near you.

Multifamily Pathway

  • Participation in the Multifamily pathway requires each property to consist of a minimum of 4 housing units or more served by SWEPCO electric meters.
  • The customer may be eligible for a walk-through assessment to identify direct install, duct sealing, air sealing, appliance, and common area upgrade opportunities.
  • Qualifying properties will receive up to $15 per unit for the installation of the following energy saving measures; LEDs, low-flow showerheads, faucet aerators, duct sealing, air sealing, and if applicable, advanced power strips. There is no charge to customers for the installation of eligible measures.
  • To ensure that funding is available for property owners, rebates are reserved. Each rebate submitted is deducted from the reservation.

Program Eligibility

SWEPCO customers in Arkansas who meet the following requirements are eligible to participate:

  • Any existing multifamily housing property (customer), which contains four or more tenant-occupied units (unit) under one roof, and is served electric power by SWEPCO.
  • Appliances purchased must be installed at the multifamily property location associated with the SWEPCO account number listed on the Multifamily Rebate Enrollment Form.
  • Direct install measures must be installed at the multifamily property location associated with the SWEPCO account number listed on the Multifamily Rebate Enrollment Form.
